My name is Brenda Chhuor (pronounced chore) and I am one of the very few female golf instructors in
Orange County, CA. I started playing golf when I was 7 years old and just like almost everyone else, my
dad was the person who introduced me to this sport. As an active child, I was involved in other sports
including; soccer, tennis and swim, but it wasn’t until I came across golf when my parents found a hidden
talent no one knew of. Immediately, they enrolled me in private lessons thus beginning my journey into my
15 + years relationship with golf. I began playing in tournaments at 11 years old and became serious at
14 years old.
I grew up in Cerritos and attended Cerritos High School. My high school years highlighted who I was as a
student and an athlete. I graduated with various accomplishments including; National Honor Society,
Scholar Athlete, 4-time MVP, CIF Champion in 2005, and Regional and League Champions (2004-
2006). Outside of high school tournaments, I was a member of the SCPGA Junior Golf Tour, Toyota
Junior Golf Tour, and AJGA. Multiple wins and top finishes on these various tours helped me gain
recognition to many Division 1 NCAA Universities thus earning me a full scholarship to Cal State Long
As an athlete at CSULB, I was fortunate enough to appear in all but 2 tournaments out my 4 years. Of
those tournaments we took home many Championship titles including Regional and appeared in NCAA
Nationals. As a student, I majored in both Communication and Human Resources. Right after college I
decided to take a break from golf and entered the Real Estate world during a tough market.
While selling properties I also began working in weddings as a planner and coordinator. Having planned
and coordinated a handful of weddings on my own in the past, I knew this was something I truly enjoyed
doing/working. I became a Certified Wedding Consultant March of 2013 and started my own business
shortly after becoming certified. From that short 2 year break, golf somehow came back to me, this time
as an instructor instead of a competitor.
Off the course, I am an outdoor/active person with a love for hiking, sight-seeing, and food tasting.
Traveling and experiencing new culture/cuisines are also a few things I enjoy doing leisurely (I would love
to do more of this in the near future when possible). Then of course, I am just another typical “girly-girl”
with a passion for fashion, weddings and anything involving shopping. Work hard, shop harder :)
With an extensive amount of experience on and off the course, golf has become second nature to me. I
truly believe in time and effort; if you give me 100% of your effort I will give you 100% plus of my time and
attention. Golf to me, is life-long sport anyone at any age can play for however long they choose. With
patience and the right instruction, you can be the player you want to be.
Thank you and let’s tee it up soon!
|"Brenda, after you left I hit probably 80% good which I am very pleased with. The towel
drill and the whole lesson is something I can really work with, Thank You! Not throwing
my clubs away." Ray Ramirez, Orange County, 4/23/2014
|"What a great lesson with Brenda! Within an hour I went from being completely lost
regarding my swing to hitting 200 yard lasers with my 5 iron. The practical explanation
of the grip, setup and swing mechanics sunk in quickly and I was able to apply it almost
immediately with great results. Very please!" - Bob Abram, Anaheim, CA 4/26/2014
